How Leche: Erosion models coastal defense

A systems guide to Leche: Erosion's sediment, shoreline pressure, vegetation, reinforcement, breakwaters, storms, and tactical wave defense.

Play Leche: Erosion

A readable strategy model, not a scientific simulator

Leche: Erosion turns coastal-defense ideas into a compact browser strategy loop. Its systems are designed for readable decisions and replayable scenarios; they are not engineering advice or a predictive coastal model.

Shoreline shape and pressure

Storm forecasts, wave cells, and pressure cues identify the parts of the atoll most likely to need attention. Reclaiming land increases useful space but can also create more coastline to defend.

The strategic question is therefore not simply how much land you can create, but whether the new edge can survive the next wave.

Soft and hard defenses

Vegetation and reinforcement reduce pressure at vulnerable cells. Breakwaters sit farther into the water and catch or interrupt wave energy before it reaches the coast.

These tools compete for sediment and placement space, encouraging layered defenses instead of a single universal upgrade.

Scenario adaptation

Campaign scenarios, doctrines, difficulty presets, weather patterns, upgrades, and boss waves change the value of each defense. The same opening is not guaranteed to solve every coastline.
